Installation profile
From MediaWiki extension testing
An installation profile represents the configuration of a given MediaWiki installation. It contains information about the software MediaWiki runs on, typically LAMP, the version of MediaWiki and its extensions and the configuration values of this environment.
At this stage we assume that the underlying software is properly configured and that the only thing we have to test is MediaWiki itself in its environment.
When we have an authoritative installation profile, the test should reflect the behaviour of a represented system. The quality of the test results will be a reflection of the available test-cases. The most basic information will be if the core MediaWiki functionality functions after the installation of an extension..
